Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Benzino is in the hospital recuperating after being shot over the weekend.
Benzino, whose real name is Raymond Scott, was shot Saturday in Duxbury, Mass. while driving in his mother’s funeral procession. According to WHDH Boston, the 48-year old was shot by his nephew Gai Scott after an argument between family members.
Scott, 36, reportedly drove up in his Bentley alongside Benzino’s Dodge SUV and fired multiple gunshots. Benzino was transported to a nearby hospital with a gun shot to his right arm.

Benzino was taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently recovering with his business partner Dave Mays, Stevie J and fiancée Thi Thi by his side.
In a statement posted on his Instagram page, he said:
I JUST WANNA THANK EVERYBODY WHO PRAYED AND SENT THEIR SINCERE CONCERNS FOR ME AND MY MOM, SHE WAS FINALLY LAID TO REST AMONGST ALL THE CHAOS, YOUR KIND WORDS AND THOUGHTS HAVE REALLY HELPED ME HEAL FASTER. ALTHOUGH I WILL HAVE A LONG ROAD OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AHEAD OF ME, I WILL BE EVEN STRONGER. GOD IS GREAT AND THE DEVIL IS A LIE.
Benzino’s fiancée Althea aka Thi Thi, shared the photos below on her Instagram with the caption: “Baby I <3 you. I will never leave your side. I’m Bonnie to your Clyde U ARE THAT NIG!!!”
Benzino wrote on Instagram, “Feel much better, GOD IS REAL @luvheraltheaheart is my SOULMATE……. MY MOTHER TOUCHED ME, IM CERTAIN.”
Gai Scott was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder. The funeral was delayed but continued the same day. Benzino’s mother, Mary Scott, died on March 20.
